Youth Learn to Ride: Saturday, July 25th, 2026

Youth Learn to Ride
Youth Learn to Ride is a group class for children ages 5 and up who are ready to ride on two-wheels for the first time.
Using a safe, efficient method taught by experienced instructors, kids will learn how to:
- Glide
- Balance
- Start and stop
- Pedal
- Steer
Most students learn to ride in just one session. Even if they don’t, families will leave with a simple, low-stress technique to help their child continue practicing and gain independence.

Required Equipment
Each child must bring:
- A bicycle with handbrakes*

Bike Requirements:
- Must fit your child properly
- Wheels should spin freely
- Brakes must function correctly
- Child must be able to place both feet flat on the ground while seated
- Training wheels must be removed
- Tires should be fully inflated
Note:
Bikes with handbrakes are strongly recommended. While coaster-brake bikes (pedal-back brakes) can be used, they can make learning more difficult since you can accidentally brake while trying to pedal forward. We also take the pedals of of bikes to teach children how to glide, so with pedals off on a coaster-bike, the rider looses their brakes! If a coaster brake bikes is all you have- you can still learn on it!
Loaner Bikes
Bike Easy may be able to provide a loaner bike and helmet, depending on availability
To request one, email your age and height to: [email protected]
