Smart Biking
Join Bike Easy's safety instructors to learn how to feel safe and confident on the road in any traffic situation.
Students will learn about choosing a bicycle, basic parts of a bike, essential equipment, as well as how to safely and comfortably ride your bike in various traffic conditions, terrain and climates.
Upon completion of all sessions, a Smart Cycling certificate will be awarded and graduates will receive a free set of bike lights.
Completion of the Smart Biking class is a prerequisite for registering for the LCI (League Cycling Instructor) Seminar.
Sessions 1 & 2 will take place via video conferencing on Zoom. Session 3 will meet at Bike Easy, 2100 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

Thursday 7/29

Session 2: Rules of the road, principles of traffic law, communicating, bike infrastructure and crash prevention
Saturday 7/31
9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Session 3: Getting on bikes, bike handling drills, fixing a flat, neighborhood ride, exam
Participants have the option of attending only Session 1 or Session 2 but must complete both Zoom Sessions before completing Smart Biking 3.
Please note a bike and helmet will be required for the final session. If you are unable to bring your own bike or helmet, please contact [email protected]
