Bike Basics, Safety, & Group Road Riding Workshop for NOLA to Angola participants.

Join this free class to learn on-bike handling drills to strengthen your confidence and control on a bike as well as a practice group ride.

Workshop topics covered will include: Adjusting the bike for comfortable riding, clothing/gear, rules of the road, handling basics, shifting gears, hazard avoidance, riding with a group, sharing paths and trails, inclement weather, and night riding.

After a brief workshop, the remainder of the time will culminate in a group road ride. The group ride will serve as a good way to practice communication between cyclists that include passing, signaling, as well as rules of the road that will help with safe navigation techniques.

A bike and helmet are required for this course, so please come prepared. All participants will receive a set of free bike lights!
