Bike Easy’s ‘Ride to Remember: Bike Safety’ hosted by Metairie Cemetery

Join us for a community bicycle ride in honor of National Bicycle Safety Month at Metairie Cemetery on Sunday, May 18th at 8:00 am. Bike Easy and Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries are partnering for this special, FREE family-friendly event to highlight bike safety and honor loved ones lost in fatal crashes while biking.  

We cordially invite friends and family of those lost in fatal crashes, as well as those who have survived them.  In addition to two staggered 3-mile community bike rides* at the event, Bike Easy will present bike safety information and demonstrations, and Metairie Cemetery will hold a brief memorial ceremony to honor the lives of people killed while riding their bikes. 

Metairie Cemetery is a safe, enclosed and beautiful space to ride a bicycle, and we invite you to join us for this special event. If you would like to ride in honor of a loved one lost in a cycling crash, at your request, we will include their name among those being honored during the memorial ceremony. 

Important: Participants riding their bikes to the event will enter through a designated bike entrance on Metairie Road, at the south-west corner of the grounds. We will have a limited number of bikes available for those without bikes at the event, so please register soon to reserve a bike. There will be food and beverage vendors, as well as other local cycling organizations on site providing giveaways.

* Note: This is not a race. It is a series of leisurely-paced community bike rides.
