Get Rolling Back to School Family Biking Workshop & Ride
Get rolling back to school on Sunday, August 25th at Audubon Park!
Participants will learn best practices, rules of the road, basic maintenance, life-saving bike handling techniques, properly fitting a helmet, as well as other useful information.
This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range 2nd-6th).
The event includes instruction on:
- fitting a helmet
- performing a bike safety check
- communicating with other road users
- riding in a straight line and avoiding obstacles
- performing a bike safety check

- as well as navigating safely through intersections, all while playing fun games!
The event will conclude with a group family bike ride around Audubon Park. Each child will receive a Walk & Roll activity book.This event is a great way for bike riding families too connect with other families and the greater New Orleans community of bicyclists. ***All minors must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Families are encouraged to bring their own working bikes and helmets. Please let us know if you need a bike or helmet provided and we will do our best to accommodate.***
